How can God’s Word transform the lives of our children and youth?
We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done… They would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. Psalm 78:4,7
At Community Bible Study (CBS), children and young people are very important to us. We delight to help them grow in their love for Jesus. When they learn what the Bible says and what a remarkable loving plan God has for them in Jesus, they put their trust in him and follow him and their lives are transformed. Amazing!
Our dedicated team gives its time and talents to offer a warm, loving environment where children and young people can experience the love of God.
What we do
The Children and Youth Ministries of CBS share God’s love through structured programs designed for preschoolers right up to school leavers. Keeping the Bible central in all our activities we use home study, discussion, teaching, memory verses and prayer to provide a place where they can develop spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically and socially. Craft, music, games, fun, fellowship and eating together are also an important part of what we do. We long for children and young people to grow, just as Jesus “grew in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men.” (Luke 2:52)
We encourage families to study together. Our materials facilitate this as they run in parallel with adult material from school-age onward. We come alongside parents, assisting and encouraging them as they teach and train their children and young people to live out God’s truth in their lives.
We emphasise to each child that:
- God made them and loves them.
- God helps them, heals them and meets their needs and is always with them.
- God gave us the Bible as His Word.
- God wants them to belong to His family as they believe and trust Jesus for themselves.
